Cartoonist and Mexican painter Ernesto Garcia "El Chango" Cabral lends his artistic skills for this fantastic Mexican one sheet. Prior to WWI, Cabal became well known as a cartoonist in Paris, where he studied art. Upon returning to Mexico in 1918, he quickly gained notoriety courtesy of his expressive caricatures, and became one of the country's most prominent illustrators. Cabral's comic style is on full display with this poster from the musical comedy starring Amalia Aguilar, Lilia Prado, Lilia del Valle, and Manolo Fabregas. The ladies make a "C" sign with their hands, a gesture meaning "He's rich!" Only the second example of this charming, rare poster that Heritage has been privileged to offer. Moderate even age toning (which all Mexican posters of this time period exhibit) is for all intents and purposes the only condition issue preventing an even higher grade.
