Description

Revenge of the Creature (Universal International, 1955). Fine+ on Linen. One Sheet (27.25" X 41") Reynold Brown Artwork.
Revenge of the Creature, the second installment in the Creature from the Black Lagoon series, continues the saga of the Gill-man, who is captured and transported to a Florida oceanarium for scientific study. Directed by Jack Arnold and presented in 3D, the film skillfully blends science fiction and horror as the creature inevitably breaks free, unleashing chaos on an unsuspecting populace. Among its notable elements is a brief early appearance by Clint Eastwood as a lab technician in his first film role. The film's iconic one sheet, featuring artwork by Reynold Brown, captures the thrilling spectacle perfectly, depicting the monstrous Gill-man towering over panicked crowds while clutching a beautiful damsel in a dramatic, unforgettable image. Touchup and airbrushing to the borders and folds has addressed edge and fold wear, pinholes, creases, fold/crossfold separation, some tears, and a few stains. A few areas of restoration and slight toning remain visible.
