Description

The Wolf Man (Realart, R-1948). Folded, Fine. Insert (14" X 36").
The Wolf Man, a landmark Universal horror classic, introduced one of the genre's most enduring figures, with Lon Chaney (dropping the "Junior" for the first time) delivering a haunting, career-defining performance as the tormented Larry Talbot. A gifted dramatic actor who had earned acclaim for his role as Lennie in Of Mice and Men, Chaney is now best remembered for his portrayal of the tragic lycanthrope cursed to transform under the full moon. The film's eerie atmosphere and groundbreaking makeup by Jack Pierce helped solidify the werewolf mythos in cinematic history. Supporting Chaney was an exceptional ensemble cast, including Claude Rains, Evelyn Ankers, Ralph Bellamy, Bela Lugosi, and more, elevating the film to one of the most revered entries in the Universal horror canon. Unrestored, imperfections include minor edge and fold wear, creases, smudges and scuffs, some border tears, a chip along the top border, graphite markings along the bottom border, a few light stains, and strips of masking tape at the upper corners that wrap around to the verso, resulting in some tape stain bleedthrough. Additionally, there is also a minor strip of cellophane tape and some clear adhesive residue on the verso.
