Son of Frankenstein (Universal, 1939). Very Fine/Near Mint. Glass Slide (3.25" X 4") Style A.
The third installment in Universal Pictures' original Frankenstein series, and Boris Karloff's final appearance as the Monster, Son of Frankenstein follows Baron Wolf von Frankenstein (Basil Rathbone) as he returns to his ancestral home, determined to restore honor to his disgraced family name. There, he discovers his father's creation still alive, hidden away by the twisted and vengeful Ygor, played memorably by Bela Lugosi. Persuaded by Ygor, Wolf revives the Monster, inadvertently setting off a wave of murders. As Ygor manipulates the creature to exact revenge, Wolf comes to terms with the horror he's unleashed. In the end, he destroys both Ygor and the Monster, renounces his father's legacy, and departs with his family, hoping to leave behind the curse of Frankenstein once and for all. There is only a play date written to the front glass, and the slide is otherwise unblemished. A first time offering at Heritage, don't let this rare item pass you by.
