Boris Karloff's portrayal of Frankenstein's Monster in the 1931 film Frankenstein is a cornerstone of horror cinema, establishing him as a genre icon and spawning a series of films loved by fans. The Monster is characterized by a flat head, neck bolts, and a lumbering gait, becoming one of the most iconic figures in horror film history and led to his future billings as just "Karloff."
