The Wizard (Fox, 1927). Very Fine. Title Lobby Card (11" X 14").
This film is based on the novel Balaoo, written by Gaston Leroux, who is perhaps best known as the author of The Phantom of the Opera. The Wizard tells the story of Professor Paul Coriolos (Gustav von Seyffertitz), a mad genius seeking revenge on the four people who sent his son to the gallows. To this end, he develops a horrific ape-man named Balaoo (George Kotsonaros) who does his bidding and carries out the murders. Paper from this film, like the movie itself, is extremely rare. Offered here is the ominous title card, showing the sinister Coriolos in his shadowy lair. In beautiful condition, the card shows only a pinhole in the two top corners, a small stain on the left border, and a tiny nick in the bottom right corner.
