Description

The Evil Dead (A. M. Films, 1983). Folded, Fine/Very Fine. French Grande (45.5" X 61.5") C. Lalande Artwork.
The Evil Dead, directed by Sam Raimi at the ripe age of only 20 years old, is a cult classic that redefined the horror genre with its relentless terror and inventive filmmaking. The story follows five college friends who retreat to a remote cabin in the woods, where they accidentally unleash malevolent demonic forces after discovering an ancient book, the Necronomicon. Chaos quickly ensues as the friends are possessed one by one, forcing Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) to fight for survival and emerge as an unlikely hero. Raimi's dynamic direction, marked by innovative camera work and practical effects, creates a nightmarish atmosphere infused with moments of dark humor. Despite its modest budget of $375,000, the film achieved stunning visuals using creative techniques such as stop-motion animation and gallons of fake blood made from corn syrup. Filmed in a remote Tennessee cabin under grueling conditions that left the cast physically battered, the production ultimately birthed a horror masterpiece. The Evil Dead remains a beloved and influential entry in cinema, inspiring numerous sequels, remakes, and a passionate fanbase. Offered in this lot is the original release French grande for the film which reinterprets the iconic artwork from the American one sheet into a colorful, chaotic piece. Some flaws are visible including slight edge and fold wear, some creases, minute misfolds, a couple of moderate chips and tears, a few stains, and several areas of tape stain/adhesive residue along the borders.
