One of the most provocative film noirs from the early 1950s, Gun Crazy captures the disillusionment of the Post-War period with themes of romantic obsession and moral collapse. It remains among the most noteworthy in the genre with its daring blend of psychological depth and visual innovation, and is especially noted for its use of long takes and subjective camera work. The script was written by the legendary Dalton Trumbo, who could not be credited at the time due to the blacklist. Featuring lush illustration by Miya Uchi, the poster's design anticipates the photomontage style that would characterize much of Japan's movie poster output in the coming decades. The poster has never been folded and was linenbacked with no touchup or restoration whatsoever. It'd be hard to imagine a more pristine example of this rare and wonderful noir gem.
