The Blue Dahlia (Paramount, 1946). Very Fine. Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14").
The third picture to feature the dynamic film noir team of Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake, this murder mystery centers around the shady happenings at the titular nightclub, the Blue Dahlia. Famous pulp writer Raymond Chandler wrote the original screenplay under time pressure -- Ladd had been called up for military duty and production had to be stepped up considerably. Regardless of this, as well as a forced re-write of the ending at the behest of the studio and the US Navy, Chandler later received a nomination for the Best Original Screenplay Oscar. All the cards have pinholes, two cards have some scuffing, and one card shows some color fading.
