This film was the first to win all five major Academy Awards and it was a feat that would not be matched until One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975). Legend has it that Myrna Loy and Robert Montgomery were originally offered the roles played by Claudette Colbert and Clark Gable. Considered one of the great romantic comedies, it was directed by Frank Capra and tells the tale of a pampered socialite who tries to get out from under her father's thumb, and falls in love with a roguish reporter. The plot was based on the story Night Bus by Samuel Hopkins Adams. This scarce lobby features an intimate portrait of the two leads, with soft creases, gentle corner bumps, border smudges, and light surface scuffs. Strips of paper tape on the verso.
