Underwater! (RKO, 1955). One Sheet (27" X 41").
This colorful one sheet snuck one by the censors with its clever tagline, "Skin Diver Action!" Most of the posters on the title including lobby cards, have busty Jane Russell in a solid one-piece bathing suit, but the one sheet prominently features her in a bikini, with a much sultrier facial take than the other posters show. A totally fun poster for a film that had one of the best old-time ballyhoo promos ever to come down the pike. Film reviewers and journalists were decked out in scuba gear down in Silver Springs, Florida, and the film premiered...underwater! There were only pinholes in the corners and image before expert touch-up and linenbacking. Very Fine- on Linen.
