Description

A Woman's Power (MGM, 1916). One Sheet (28.5" X 42.25").
Silent film comedian Douglas MacLean stars as Newt Spooner, a jailbird out for revenge on the person who put him in the slammer (E.M.. Kimball). His lady love Minerva (Mollie King in her film debut) attempts to dissuade Newt from his mission. Besides acting, MacLean was a skilled producer, which he did a great deal of between 1923 and 1929. A first time offer from Heritage, this stone litho features a beautiful rendering of MacLean and King embracing. The folds have been touched-up, and restoration has addressed chips in the border. A light misfold at the center horizontal fold is barely detectable, and overall the piece displays very well. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
