Pinocchio (RKO, 1940). Half Sheet (22" X 28") Style A.
The famous Carlo Collodi Italian fantasy of Pinocchio, a wooden marionette who miraculously comes to life when his maker longs for a real boy was brought splendidly to the screen by Walt Disney. But just as real little boys get into trouble, so does Pinocchio and his adventures with Jimminy Cricket propel the story to the limits of animation. Most film aficionados believe that this film marks the zenith of Disney's career and that the depth and quality of the animation has never been surpassed. Airbrushing has been applied to the poster's borders as well as a minor bit of the sky in the upper right background. The bottom of the image in both the yellow on the left and at the center point of the poster and the yellow of the title area just to the left of Pinocchio have had touchup. There were also a few small tears in to the poster that just went into the image area; most notably on the left border and in the lower left corner. A delightful find for Disney fans!
