The Viking (MGM, 1928). One Sheet (27" X 41").
Filmed in a very early version of Technicolor, The Viking was the most successful use of color up to that point in the cinema. Leif Ericsson (Donald Crisp) leads his band of surly Norsemen to pillage England. This was the first feature-length Technicolor film that included a soundtrack. Offered here is a lush stone litho poster that sports vibrant colors and a rousing image of the roving warriors. Nordic beauty Helga Nilsson (Pauline Starke) is swept up in the sea of plunder. The piece has been restored to address tears and a small hole in the top border and bottom section, and chips in the top horizontal fold. Fine on Linen.
