Accomplished artist John Falter joined the Navy in 1943, creating more than 300 posters for the war effort as a lieutenant on special assignment as an artist. The poster offered here, an Office of War Information (OWI) poster warning citizens to be careful about what they say. The particular image became one of Falter's most popular wartime images. An unrestored poster with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as light edge and fold wear, very minor fold separations, soft handling creases, and light smudges.
