Description

New York World's Fair (Grinnell Litho Co., 1939). Travel Poster (20" X 30").
John Atherton (1900-1952) was a commercial illustrator who designed for General Motors, Shell Motors, and Dole. In 1939, he was commissioned to create a poster for the New York World's Fair. His superb Art Deco piece includes the Perisphere, Trylon, and the Geosphere, all enveloped in the embrace of Lady Liberty. In excellent condition, the poster earns the highest grade possible for an item on linen. Very Fine+ on Linen.
