Gone with the Wind (MGM, 1939). Folded, Fine/Very Fine. Spanish One Sheets (3) (26.5" X 38.75" & 26" X 37").
Offered in this lot is a stunning trio of complementary Spanish one sheets for the 1939 classic, featuring character head shots of Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara (appropriately, in red) and the other with Clark Gable as Rhett Butler. The casting of the two lead roles for the film became a two-year endeavor. Gable was chosen over Gary Cooper, Errol Flynn, and Ronald Colman to play Rhett; Leigh beat out dozens of actresses for the role of Scarlett. The match is made of the most unforgettable dysfunctional couples in motion picture history. Also offered is an art style one sheet, which has had the blank borders trimmed off. Folded as issued, the portrait one sheets exhibit some corner pinholes, fold splits, and edge wear with clean tears. The trimmed one sheet has some edge tears and a puncture in the lower left billing block. All of the posters present well and collectively, would make an impressive display.
