Nikko, Japan (Japan Travel Bureau, 1950s). Travel Poster (28.5 X 43") "Autumn in Nikko" Style.
This absolutely lovely travel poster dates from the era when the Japan Travel Bureau was still owned by the Japanese Government. It features two traditional Japanese beauties in the foreground in Nikko, one of the most popular of all tourist destinations, just eighty-three miles north of Tokyo. In the background is perhaps the number one photographed place in Japan, Kegon Falls, cascading into Lake Chuzenji below. The poster was never folded. Touchup to tiny tears in the left border, and a tear from the top border to the center of the poster. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
