Description
A Bill of Divorcement, A (1932) (RKO, 1932). Very Fine on Linen. Three Sheet (38" X 78").In A Bill of Divorcement, Katharine Hepburn made her film debut as Sydney Fairfield, a role she was cast in by director George Cukor, who was captivated by her unique stage presence and striking personality. Despite some studio hesitation over her unconventional looks and voice, Hepburn's screen debut was a critical success, and she received strong reviews for her poise, intelligence, and emotional depth. The film helped launch what would become one of the most legendary careers in Hollywood history, with Hepburn eventually earning four Academy Awards for Best Actress, a record that still stands. Backed to linen there has been some light touch-up to small portions of the folds, a few small chips within the image and a few small tears. This work was handled expertly and the poster presents beautifully. The linen has been stretched onto a wooden frame like a painting, and the borders have been pulled to the sides of the stretcher making the frontal measurements 38" X 78". While it is supremely displayable in this state, know that it may be quite expensive to ship, should the winning bidder choose to, the poster can be removed from the stretcher and rolled for shipment.
