Description
The Searchers (Warner Bros., 1956). Very Fine. John Wayne Gifted Hand-Painted Cast and Crew Ceramic Coffee Mug (Diameter: 3.25" Height: 4") Bob Williams Artwork. In one of the most famous collaborations between the legendary cinematic pairing of actor John Wayne and director John Ford, The Searchers sees Wayne at his most nuanced and vulnerable in the role of Ethan Edwards, a former Confederate soldier that embarks on a years-long journey to rescue his niece from the Comanche tribe that murdered his family. Supported by a cast of first-rate performers including Jeffrey Hunter, Vera Miles, and a young Natalie Wood as Wayne's niece, Debbie, The Searchers delivers a powerful tale of hope, hardship, and perseverance. A stunning piece of memorabilia from this film, Heritage is proud to offer this rare John Wayne gifted cast and crew coffee mug from the picture. Featuring original artwork by Bob Williams, The Searchers was the eleventh design he produced for The Duke and shows Wayne and Hunter as their respective characters, below them the famous line "that'll be the day." In remarkable condition, the mug, made out to "Web from Duke," displays minor wear, such as light surface wear, minute nicks, very minimal paint chipping to the handle, and slight fading to the stamp at the bottom of the mug.
