Heritage is proud to offer this original proof for an unreleased TEAC and TASCAM one sheet, created to promote George Lucas' Star Wars and spotlight the audio technology behind R2-D2's iconic beeps as well as a majority of the film's pioneering sound design. Based on the advance style B poster and produced by Gore Graphics, this proof was part of a proposed promotional campaign developed by Lucas and TASCAM to highlight their groundbreaking contributions to cinematic sound. When the campaign was ultimately abandoned, nearly all posters were destroyed, with only a few known in existence today, making this proof an exceptionally rare and coveted artifact in the realm of Star Wars memorabilia. Featuring the tagline "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... TEAC and TASCAM were there," this striking blue-and-white piece is a remarkable find for the discerning collector. Adding to its significance, the lot includes a hand-marked Gore Graphics proof sheet numbered "9097" and dated "9/13" for customer "TEAC." Signs of age include edge wear, creases, wrinkling, moisture staining along the borders, and a small strip of cellophane tape within the upper blue background. Given that this is non-standard poster paper, please note that the ink density varies in different parts of the poster. Provenance: Charles Lippincott Collection. November 2022.
