Description
A Fistful of Dollars (United Artists, 1966). Fine+ on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41") Teaser Style B. Fred Otnes Artwork.A unique set of circumstances is part of the lore for the filming of Sergio Leone's A Fistful of Dollars -- it's an Italian picture made in Spanish locations for the equivalent of $200,000, and cast with an American television actor who could not find work in American feature films. It would spawn a generation of Western films that would come to be known as "Spaghetti Westerns." The actor, Clint Eastwood, was to become one of Hollywood's biggest stars and directors. This style B teaser was one of the first posters seen in a theater. It is dated 1966, but the film was not released until January of 1967 in the U.S. Heritage has only sold this poster a handful of times, and finding one in presentable condition is a challenge. This particular example had the upper border folded back at one time, pinholes in the corners and the title written in the lower white blank area of the poster. With expert restoration, all of these issues have been addressed and the poster is now very presentable.
