Raquel Welch in her fur bikini, as featured on this iconic one sheet, became one of the most indelible images of the nascent sexual revolution sweeping Western culture in the mid-1960s. Though Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion dinosaur effects sequences remain popular with genre enthusiasts, it is Welch as a cave woman that gives the film its enduring appeal. The poster is accompanied by its original 20th Century Fox distribution envelope, addressed to a theater in New York City. It is rare than any movie poster retains its original transmittal vessel. Folded as issued, the poster exhibits some light creasing and unobtrusive smudges.
