Description

Boom Town (MGM, 1940). Rolled, Fine/Very Fine. Horizontal Poster (39.75" X 59.75").
Boom Town is a classic MGM drama that captures the ambition, rivalry, and camaraderie of the American oil boom, blending adventure, romance, and high-stakes drama. Clark Gable and Spencer Tracy star as rowdy wildcatters whose friendship is torn apart when Gable falls for Tracy's girlfriend, played by Claudette Colbert. A fateful coin flip sets off a chain of betrayals, business rivalries, and shifting fortunes, while Hedy Lamarr's entrance into their lives complicates matters even further. Directed by Jack Conway, the film vividly portrays the highs and lows of the oil industry, from grueling labor to corporate battles, all set against sweeping landscapes and a backdrop of risk and reward. With its star-studded cast, dazzling chemistry between its leads, and a compelling exploration of love, loyalty, and ambition, Boom Town remains a riveting depiction of the pursuit of the American dream. This extraordinarily rare horizontal poster features a fantastic image of the four phenomenal leads bathed in hues of rich blue. Displaying some wear and age, the poster contains, edge, corner, and handling wear, pinholes, creases, slight smudges and scuffs, mostly moderate chips and tears along the borders, minor stains, and light toning. Additionally, there are a few strips of masking and cellophane tape on the verso.
