Description

Sweet Charity (CWF, 1971). Very Fine on Linen. First Release Polish One Sheet (22" X 31.5") Wiktor Gorka Artwork.
Sweet Charity, directed and choreographed by the legendary Bob Fosse in his feature film directorial debut, is a vibrant and visually dazzling musical based on the Broadway hit of the same name. Fosse, known for his distinctive dance style, brings his innovative choreography to life in iconic numbers such as the show-stopping "Big Spender" and the energetic "Rich Man's Frug." Starring Shirley MacLaine in the titular role, the film follows the hopeful but unlucky-in-love taxi dancer Charity Hope Valentine as she navigates the highs and lows of romance in 1960s New York City. MacLaine's charismatic performance brings warmth and vulnerability to Charity, making her a captivating and relatable protagonist. Despite its bittersweet narrative, Sweet Charity dazzles with colorful visuals, catchy songs, and Fosse's groundbreaking creative choices. Though initially met with mixed reviews, it has since earned a cult following for its artistry and unforgettable musical moments. Presented only a handful of times before in our history, Heritage is proud to once again offer this striking first release Polish one sheet for the film. With completely different artwork from any other Sweet Charity poster and unrestored on linen, only light fold wear and a few smudges/scuffs remain visible. Additionally, there is subtle tape stain/tape stain bleedthrough at the corners of the linen. From the Agnieszka Kulon & Piotr Dabrowski Collection.
