Description

The Curse of the Werewolf (Rank, 1961). Fine/Very Fine on Linen. British Quad (30" X 40").
Presented only twice before, Heritage is thrilled to once again offer this excellent country-of-origin British quad for the Hammer Horror film, The Curse of the Werewolf. Showcases the studio's only venture into the werewolf genre, it features Oliver Reed in his first starring role delivering a memorable, over-the-top performance as the tormented Leon. Directed by Terence Fisher and based on Guy Endore's The Werewolf of Paris, the film combines Hammer's Gothic atmosphere with unflinching depictions of mayhem and tragedy. The striking artwork, dominated by Reed's feral visage, reflects the studio's bold marketing style that helped define its enduring legacy in mid-20th-century horror cinema. Airbrushing and minor replacement to the borders have been paired with touchup to the folds to correct edge and fold wear, creases, minor misfolds, a few chips, and some stains/staining including tape stains. Thanks to these efforts, it now presents beautifully.
