Description

Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (Universal International, 1950). Folded, Very Fine-. First Post War Italian 2 - Fogli (39.25" X 55") C. Palozzi Artwork.
It's Heritage's first time to offer any Italian paper for this genre-blending classic, and what a great introductory piece it is with its expressive caricatures by the artist Palozzi. Universal created a whole new variety of movie with this crossover picture, teaming up their most famed comedic duo with a coterie of the studio's iconic monsters. The move revitalized both Abbott and Costello's flagging post-war careers as well as interest in Universal's slew of horror pictures. Bela Lugosi reprises his role of Dracula for the second and final time on screen, while Lon Chaney Jr. transforms into his signature role as the lycanthrope Larry Talbot, and Glenn Strange undertook the portrayal of Frankenstein's Monster. Overall, the film was a smash hit with audiences everywhere and remains a top title for today's collectors. Displaying colorful artwork, this poster shows mild edge and fold wear, slight fold separations, pinholes, and some minor chips and tears. Also visible are unobtrusive stains and a bit of mild toning in the folds. There is a small strip of paper tape remnants on the verso.
