Casino Royale - David Niven, Dahlia Lavi by Giorgio Olivetti (Columbia, 1967). Very Fine. Signed Original Mixed Media Poster Artwork on Illustration Board (19.5" X 27.5")
Italian painter and poster artist Giorgio Olivetti (1908-1972), was one of the greats of Italian cinema. His works include designs for La Dolce Vita (1959), Cat People (1949), Some Like It Hot (1959), and many more. But he is remembered for his renderings of the stars of the Columbia hit Casino Royale (1967), producing three magnificent Italian four-fogli. This sale offers the three original gouache full-bodied images of the six stars to create those famous posters. This brilliant original artwork by Olivetti is unrestored and shows only a few pinholes, smudging, and a couple of tape stains within the border of the illustration board. The painting is signed "Olivetti" in the upper right image area of Daliah Lavi and on the verso.
