Al Jolson (Circa 1913). Autographed Portrait Photo (8" X 11").
Vintage gelatin silver, double weight, matte photo. This is a great portrait of Al Jolson, in the early years of his stellar entertainment career, and pre-Jazz Singer success. He's pictured with pianist Melville Ellis, and has signed the photo "Truly Yours Al Jolson." There is also a notation that states, "The Spaniard that Blighted My Life" which pertains to the title of the song being performed. Jolson performed this song in his show, The Honeymoon Express in 1913, and this song sold over a million copies. There is writing in the corners and on the verso, the edges have been trimmed, a small chips in the left corners, a tiny tear and smudging in the bottom border. Fine+.
