Description
Ashes of Vengeance (First National, 1923). One Sheet (27" X 41").A most beautiful 1923 stone lithograph featuring "The Queen of Versatility," Norma Talmadge. She was equally effective whether playing a Chinese woman, an American Indian half-breed, or as shown here, a French Huguenot, dressed in a stunning court dress. The dress was designed by Claire West, who worked with everyone from D. W. Griffith to Buster Keaton. That's Conway Tearle beside her, being noble and very much in love with Talmadge. There are tack holes in the borders, edge wear with a few chips in the lower board, a date stamp at the bottom, and small crossfold separation. This gorgeous litho, with its lovely layout, could easily be displayed just as you see it. Fine+.
