Double Indemnity (Paramount, 1944). Insert (14" X 36").
Director Billy Wilder created what has become a classic film noir with this, his third U.S. film as director. Fred MacMurray stars as an insurance agent who becomes involved with the wife of a client, played to perfection by femme fatale Barbara Stanwyck. Her seductive ways convince him to help murder Stanwyck's husband and make it look like an accident, allowing her to collect the double indemnity clause. Things run afoul, however, when MacMurray's boss (Edward G. Robinson) is tasked with investigating the case. This fantastic poster (considered by many to be the best format for the title) would make a fine addition to any noir collection. It has minor edge wear, slight staining in the left border, a small tear in the upper and lower borders, and upper right corner bending. This is a lovely rolled copy. Rolled, Fine/Very Fine.
