Description
The Lost World (First National, 1925). Window Card (14" X 22").A 1925 silent film adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle's book of the same name starring Wallace Beery as Professor Challenger. This first version was directed by Harry O. Hoyt and featured pioneering stop motion special effects by Willis O'Brien (doing an invaluable warm up for his work on the original King Kong). This film has been deemed "culturally significant" by the Library of Congress and was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. The original movie posters for this film have always been scarce and very desirable due to its science fiction-related story elements. This card was folded into quarters and had been trimmed just into the image on all four sides. There was a chip from the lower right corner that extended into the word "Picture." There was another chip just into the outer edge of the First National logo on the lower left. The poster has been restored to bring it back to all of its former glory and now displays beautifully! Very Good on Cardstock.
