Description
Top Hat (RKO, 1935). Insert (14" X 36").With a ritzy, Venetian (but very Hollywood inspired) hotel as the backdrop, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dance the nights away to "The Piccolino," "Cheek to Cheek," "Isn't it a Lovely Day?," and the title song. The lighthearted plot finds Rogers mistaking Astaire for her best friend's husband and trying to fend off his attention. Edward Everett Horton, Erik Rhodes, and the irrepressible Eric Blore provide comic support. This is one of the dancing pair's finest films and has remained a beloved classic for generations. Inserts for this title rarely turn up, and this is only the second time we have been lucky enough to offer this sensational insert. Prior to professional restoration, it had two tears at the right edge, one at the bottom border, and one at the left border. There was a small chip in the top right corner, top border, and left border. The poster has never been folded. The image area is in excellent condition and the bright colors of the artwork are terrific. Fine/Very Fine on Paper.
