Hondo (Warner Brothers, 1954). Italian 2 - Foglio (39" X 55").
Luigi Martinati, master Italian poster artist, created one of his greatest posters with this beautiful portrait of John Wayne from Hondo. Wayne portrays the title character, a cavalry scout who tries to avert a war between the Apaches and the US Cavalry. Caught in the middle of the conflict is a woman and child that Hondo eventually takes under his wing. The film was based on a story by one of the greatest writers of old West fiction, Louis L' Amour and was one of the last to be filmed in 3D as the process never caught on with audiences in the 1950s. The poster has had restoration to pinholes and small chips in the borders. There were also some minor chips along the fold lines, primarily in the upper part of the middle vertical fold. The restoration is quite nice and the poster is ready for display. This Italian poster is one of the rarest for the film. Fine/Very Fine on Linen
