Description

World War II Propaganda (U.S. Government Printing Office, 1944). Folded, Very Fine+. Poster (20" X 28") DS, "Less Dangerous Than Careless Talk," Albert Dorne Artwork. War.
Offered in this lot is a World War II poster featuring a startling but terrific painting by Albert Dorne of a coiled rattlesnake about to strike, with a clever tagline of "less dangerous than careless talk." It was Dorne that recruited eleven well-known artists and illustrators, including Norman Rockwell, and founded the Famous Artists School. An unrestored poster with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as edge and fold wear, creasing, and unobtrusive smudging.
