Description
Of Human Hearts (MGM, 1938). Title Card and Lobby Cards (6) (11" X 14"). MGM garnered early interest in this Clarence Brown drama with a nationwide radio contest that called for listeners to submit possible film titles. One lucky South Carolina high school student walked away with $5,000, a trip to the world premiere and a spot in cinema history. The story follows a minister (Walter Huston) who finds his life of selflessness and sacrifice has fallen on his son Jason's (James Stewart) deaf ears. Jason longs to escape the scant lifestyle provided by a minister's salary, so he's off to medical school. It's not until the Civil War calls for his medical expertise, does Jason realize his selfish ways. John Carradine, Charles Coburn and Beulah Bondi also star. These cards have various pinholes throughout, the title card has a one-inch tear to the upper border and a scene card has a small stain on the lower right corner. This is the first time Heritage has offered any paper from this title. Great cards for any Stewart or Huston collector.
