The Pit and the Pendulum (Filmar, 1961). Folded, Fine/Very Fine. Italian 2 - Fogli (39.25" X 55") Enzo Nistri Artwork.
After the impressive success of The House of Usher, Roger Corman embarked on a whole series of films based on Edgar Allan Poe's novels and poems, and the director would feature Vincent Price in most of those. Price had an uncanny gift to bring a sense of terror to each of his roles and in the Pit and the Pendulum, brought the despair of insanity to a new crescendo. On this poster, Price is driven to madness by the "ghost" of his dead wife (Barbara Steele), and then he embarks on a reign of terror using the devices of the Spanish Inquisition. The poster, created by Italian artist Enzo Nistri, has some edge and fold wear, slight fold separations, mild creases, and pinholes. There are some small tears and chips, dust shadows, unobtrusive stains and smudges, and a couple of tape stains. There is a strip of cellophane tape on the verso.
