Based on Louisa May Alcott's beloved novel, the film also won the Oscar for Best Writing, awarded to husband-and-wife team Victor Heerman and Sarah Y. Mason. Katharine Hepburn, Joan Bennett, Jean Parker, and Frances Dee delivered memorable performances as the March sisters. Despite initial hesitation from studio executives about financing a film centered on women during the Civil War, producer David O. Selznick ultimately persuaded them to move forward. The result was a critically acclaimed and commercially successful film. This poster has had touch-up to light fold wear, chipping along the folds, and airbrushed borders.
