Produced on an estimated budget of $50,000, Roger Corman shot the film in five days, reusing sets and crew from other projects to keep expenses down. The minimal budget contributed to its claustrophobic feel with most of the action taking place inside a few office rooms and labs. Despite the tiny cost, the movie turned a solid profit on the drive-in and television circuits. There is some light bumping to the edges and a couple corners, a few small or minute edge splits and minor smudges.
