Star Wars did not reach Russian audiences until 1990, when the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the easing of censorship finally opened the door to Western films. Produced during this period of newfound artistic freedom, this poster, featuring artwork by Aleksandr Chantsev, bursts with creativity, portraying a lively assortment of alien figures loosely inspired by the saga's iconic cantina scene. Even rarer than the already scarce Russian poster, this version includes the addition of the word "Tähesõjad" ("Star Wars" in Estonian) at the lower right. It is believed to be the only known Estonian-language poster from any original release of the trilogy. This poster has never been offered by Heritage Auctions, nor are we aware of another having appeared at public auction. The poster shows only minor edge and fold wear, small corner bends, and light creasing. Faint staining on the verso does not affect the image on the front.
