The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (Warner Bros., 1948). Fine+ on Linen. One Sheet (27.25" X 40.75").
With his trademark sense of adventure, director John Huston led his cast and crew deep into the Sierra Madre mountains to film this Academy Award-winning epic, based on the novel by the mysterious German author B. Traven. One of the first Hollywood films shot partly on location, in the rugged landscapes of Durango and the bustling streets of Tampico, Mexico, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre is a powerful tale of greed, lust, and betrayal. Humphrey Bogart and Tim Holt deliver unforgettable performances, but it was Huston's father, Walter Huston, who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, while John Huston himself claimed Oscars for both Best Director and Best Screenplay. Featuring superb portraits and vivid color, this coveted one sheet is a striking tribute to one of cinema's greatest achievements. The right and bottom borders were replace. There was touchup to edge and fold wear, a few pinholes, creases, small fold/crossfold separation, and minute chipping. The background was airbrushed, and the poster presents well.
