Offered here is a fantastic early cinema reference book-an ideal gift for the silent-film enthusiast-featuring full-page color portraits of legends like Charlie Chaplin, Fatty Arbuckle, and scores of other stars active before 1916, along with literally hundreds of black-and-white photographs. Measuring approximately 8.75" x 10.75" and running around 250 pages, the volume remains complete and clean, with minimal graphite markings/notes. Notable artwork includes a cherubic film-director painting by J. M. Flagg and a full-page cartoon by a young John (later "Johnny") Gruelle. An unrestored book with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as edge and handling wear, faint toning, spine creasing, and unobtrusive smudging.
