Description
Limousine Life (Triangle, 1918). Three Sheet (42" X 80.5").Olive Thomas began her career in entertainment as a Ziegfeld Girl, appearing in the "Follies" of 1915 and 1916. She became a film star almost immediately when she signed with Triangle in 1916, and was cast in several pictures over the next two years. Thomas made nearly a dozen more films in 1919 and 1920 for Selznick, then departed for Europe with husband Jack Pickford. Soon after, she died by mysteriously ingesting mercury in Paris. In this film, Thomas stars as an intrepid young woman who leaves her small town sweetheart (Joe Bennett) behind to make a life in Chicago, where she finds a job as a model in a fashionable shop. She catches the eye of a wealthy playboy (Lee Phelps) and accepts his marriage proposal. When he becomes bored with her and wants to break things off, she agrees, but only in exchange for a limousine, a large wardrobe, and a fat check. The poster has undergone professional restoration to touch up the folds and correct some tears and small chips throughout. Fine+ on Linen.
