Mickey Mouse Stock Poster (United Artists, 1933). French Affiche (23.5" X 31.5").
Mickey Mouse was born in 1928 with appearances in the silents Plane Crazy and Gallopin' Gaucho, quickly followed with the innovative sound short Steamboat Willie, which was an instant hit with audiences. With the new technology of synchronized sound animation, Mickey's popularity took off, and by 1932 he was one of the most beloved cartoon characters in America. It was in this year that Disney would win an honorary Academy Award for his creation. This 1933 stock French poster features a darling image of Mickey, Minnie Mouse and Pluto. There are two tax stamps and writing in the drum, a light dust shadow in the borders, paper lifts in the corners, wrinkling at the bottom right, and a vertical fold separation with archival tape on the verso. An incredible find for Disney lovers! Folded, Fine/Very Fine.
