Out of the Past (RKO, 1947). One Sheet (27" X 41").
How do you create a poster that's as good as the film it represents? First you give it the same shadowed film noir look the film has, and you put your anti-hero in his 1940s fedora at just the right angle, with smoke curling as nonchalantly as the world weary look in his eyes. Then you have him staring at a femme fatale in a sexy pink penoir set, casually drooping her gun in her hand with an inscrutable air of ..."will I use it or won't I?" And you throw in a clinch scene at the bottom with the "good" girl, to show he's trying to go straight. And if you're a collector, you wait for years for a copy this clean in original condition to come along. Just a few pinholes in the corners and background, a minor bottom edge tear, minimal fold wear, and tiny crossfold separations. Excellent color and registration! Very Fine+.
