Light fold wear with a single small cross fold separation. Slight color transfer on the lower vertical fold. Crisp and glossy with fun images of the characters. Very Fine+.
Golden Age (1938-1955)
Army Girl (Republic, 1938). Lobby Cards (5) (11" X 14"). Drama. Starring Madge Evans, Preston Foster, James Gleason, H. B. Warner, Ruth Donnelly, Neil Hamilton, Heather Angel, Ralph Morgan. Directed by George Nichols Jr.. Heavy border soiling, edge wear with small tears, and corner bumps and creases. One card has a vertical crease, and one has a surface blemish to Evans' face. The color is still extremely good on these cards, and with a thorough cleaning, the improvement would be dramatic since there is no paper loss. This is one of those "sleeper" films, having been nominated for three Academy Awards. Very Good+.

This appears to be a hodge-podge of stock footage put together with a semblance of relevance to "beauty" and the "body". Judy Miller, reclining on the lower left in the blue swimsuit, was a model for Rose Marie Reid, the top selling swimsuit manufacturer during the 1945-1962 era. Ms. Reid's demise was brought on by the 'bikini'. The one sheet poster also features Kip Behar, a physique gay model whose best photos were taken for $10 a day! Suffice it to say...you'll go through a great many one sheets before you see "Jai-Lai" players and The "Rose Parade" in one setting. A true piece of aberrant Americana. Wrapper Fresh. Fine+.

Included in this lot are several pieces related to Cinerama films such as "This is Cinerama" (1952), "The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm" (1962), "How the West Was Won" (1962) and "Battle of the Bulge" (1965). There is an exhibitor's poster, seven stills, premiere tickets and invitations, and a lobby display. The poster has edge tears, and light fold wear. The display has light edge staining. One of the stills has light tanning. Four of the stills are duplicates. A very unusual and fun lot. Very Fine.

Pinholes, and very light corner bumps and minor creases. To understand how prolific some character actors are, consider that this was Cobb's 45th film by 1920! He had an incredibly good run that lasted until 1966, with his last film, "Johnny Reno." Sci-Fi/ Horror buffs will note, that's Cobb driving the coach in "The House of Frankenstein." Very Fine+.

This Academy Award-winning British documentary traces the epic battles between generals Rommel and Montgomery during the height of World War II, from the defeat at El Alamein to the ultimate British victory at Tripoli. There is slight fold line wear with a touch more at the cross folds, pinholes and a censor stamp in the lower right corner. The poster has been professionally restored, rendering these defects hard to detect. This is one of the finest war posters of this period. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.

Directed by Herbert Wilcox. Border soiling, surface abrasions, small chip in bottom left border, staining in border, edge wear with small tears and a small chip out of the top left border, diagonal crease on right side of one card, and traces of poster paint residue in middle field. These two exceedingly rare country-of-origin original issue Gaumont British cards deserve a good restorer's hand. The color is still quite good and after a thorough cleaning would yield great results. For those of you who haven't discovered one of the most endearing stars of the British cinema, Ms. Neagle was voted 'Top Favorite English Actress' for seven years running after World War II. This film was known by two other titles, "London Melody", and a 1938 US release as "Girl in the Street." Very Good.

This is the German one sheet for "Cannibal Ferox", one of Lenzi's culty hits that was released in America under the title "Make Them Die Slowly." (Ferox is a Latin word which means 'fierce'). The German title translates to "The Revenge of the Cannibals," and the cut line translates to "What is Inconceivable is Displayed on the Cinema Canvas in Cruel Reality." When this cult classic first was issued many countries banned it for the excessive violence and real-screen cruelty to animals. This one sheet has had color touch to the upper and lower portions of the vertical fold line to restore some minor chips. There were also some minor chips out of the borders and light color touch to the rest of the fold lines. Very Good/Fine on Linen.

These are "press pages" distributed to American television studios in the mid 1950's when Republic offered its entire catalogue of serials to the nation's TV channels for their first TV showings. They are in four different printings, with a total of 48 pages, with only three duplications. There are 31 8"x 10" pages that have 8 photos per page, with cast lists, credits, and an overall synopsis on the back. There are 17 pages that are 11"x 17", that fold out to include cast lists, credits, and a chapter by chapter synopsis. These are an amazing find. Have 45 vintage serial titles at your fingertips direct from Republic! Mint.

This stock one sheet, probably for foreign release (we've never seen another like it), allowed theaters to show any Tarzan title by using snipes to paste or tape the information in place in the open space. The title card has folds, small chip in the upper right corner, and faint staining and smudging in the borders. The scene cards have slight border stains, tear in the left border, and minor corner bumps. Fine+.
