Description:
King Kong (RKO, 1933). French Grande (46" X 62.75") Style A.
This stunning full-bleed French grande captures the pinnacle of one of the greatest sci-fi/horror films ever made. Artist Roland Coudon created a stone litho image that is arguably the best from this classic title -- King Kong illuminated by the glow of native torches, as he gazes upon the lovely Fay Wray. Audiences around the world were mesmerized by Merian C. Cooper's film in 1933, with its groundbreaking special effects that brought a whole new dimension to movie making. "Kong! The Eighth Wonder of the World" (as he was billed in the movie) still reigns supreme among movie poster collectors. The poster has been restored with touchup to fold wear with small chips. There is light creasing still visible in the top left, and the artist's name appears twice in the upper left section. An extraordinary piece that will be a head-turner in any collection! Very Fine+ on Linen. Estimate: .
