Description:
Mutt and Jeff in Occultism (Fox, 1918). One Sheet (28" X 41"). From the Leonard and Alice Maltin Collection.
Making its first appearance in 1907, Bud Fisher's daily comic strip Mutt and Jeff quickly gained national and then international popularity. Fisher ultimately entered into an agreement with Pathe to supervise a series of animated cartoons. The series ran from 1913 through 1926 and was a huge favorite with theater going audiences in the silent years. A first time offer from Heritage, this fun poster of the comic duo has retained its color nicely. Minimal restoration has been applied to light spotting in the borders and background, fold wear, a tear from the top border into the text, and chips in the right border. From the Leonard and Alice Maltin Collection. Fine on Linen.
