Description:
Mickey Mouse Stock Poster (United Artists, 1935). One Sheet (27" X 41").
A great movie poster collection would not be complete without this rare, delightful stock poster of one of America's most endearing cartoon characters, Mickey Mouse. Created in 1928 by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks and voiced by Walt Disney himself, Mickey brought its creator to the attention of the world and helped established Disney's reputation as a creative genius. The anthropomorphic mouse has evolved from a simple character in animated cartoons and comic strips to one of the most recognizable symbols in the world. United Artists picked up the Disney franchise when Columbia dropped him in 1932 and in February 1935, Disney made his first Technicolor Mickey Mouse cartoon. This gorgeous stock poster heralds that event! Touch-up has been applied to pinholes in the borders, fold wear, chips in the borders and bottom horizontal fold, and to the image itself, rendering the poster a bright, vibrant showpiece! Fine on Linen.
